It’s a little weird trying to be critical of an article you wrote about a decision you made while you’re critical of that decision. But to sum it up, I have a product called Fitness Tracker. I’ve been using it since my heart went to hell seven years ago and it has gone through many iterations.
Midway through building a version in Electron, I began to find some problems. And as I looked deeper into those, I started to notice many more problems. As I looked deeper, it started to look like I was going to rewrite the most commplicated module and all the front end code anyways.
The rewrite is going well. But I did a rewrite into a totally different framework midway through a beta test. And that’s not good. I’m not sure if it was a bad decision or whether the decision making process that lead me to use Electron in the first place was flawed.
